Kegel Exercises – How long before I will see results?

When I went to the bathroom today, I tried to stop the flow of urine and couldn't! 1) is this normal? 2) if not, I need some major Kegel exercises. How often do I need to do them? How soon before I feel results? Any other tips on this?
